introduction

The Senior Impact Program is currently funded through a federal grant from SAMHSA and is designed to increase access to effective services for senior citizens experiencing depression. The program has provided very high quality services, with excellent results, in Marion and Johnson counties since 2008 and has built many partnership and relationshps with area physicians, area hosptials, area councils on aging, community support networks, and senior citizen centers.

Our intent is to provide simple, professional, and effective senior depression screening and treatment services to the 60+ year old residents of Marion and Johnson Counties. The IMPACT model is proven effective in senior depression treatment through research and our staff is uniquely qualified to integrate your depression treatment with your primary care treatment. If you aren't working with a physician, the Senior Impact Program is co-located with a Federally Qualified Health Center and our staff work very closely together to provide integrated primary and behavioral health care for holistic senior depression treatment.

Depression is very easy to mistake for feeling blue, sad, or tired. If fact, many of our senior consumers have been told these feelings "are just part of getting older". We simply disagree; getting older is often a remarkable phase of life which presents many new challenges, experiences, and celebrations. Our testimonies page includes real stories of real senior adults who have recovered from senior depression. Their stories are very inspiring and very real.

If you, or a loved one, consistently feel blue, sad, or tired, please complete the PHQ 9 depression screen and GAD 7 Anxiety Screen by following the above links. This could be the first step to the rest of your life.
